2012 Plans

Well,let me just be honest here.... I'm horrible at keeping a New Year's Resolution. This year, I plan on actually following through with with some of these goals.

So here are some of my goal that I hope to achieve in 2012:

**Try to eat healthier

 **Go out for a walk/run with Lexi

**Start date nights with L again

**Pick up some books and start reading (Any suggestions on some good books?)

**Stop biting my nails, I know it's gross and has been a bad habit of mine.

**Start drinking a lot more water instead of tea

**Try some craft projects via Pinterest
**Start a weekly/monthly game night with friends
I hope that my 2012 goals will work out this time!

What are some or your New Year's resolutions?

2011 In Review

2011 has been one heck of a rough year for me. I am glad to have had some great memories this year, but I am glad to be throwing this year out the door.

These are some of the events that have made part of 2011 a good year.  (Warning: Picture Overload)

I will let the pictures do most of the talking now...

January:

{We went to Dallas to see A&M and LSU play in the Cotton Bowl}

{Went to Austin to see L's friend play in a band and I also had my first experience on 6th street (Crazy, that I went 3 years after turning 21, ha) }

His friend plays video game music and it wasn't as bad as I thought.
This is what happens when you are allowed to write on walls  sober intoxicated

March:
              {My mom and sister's came down to visit us for Easter}

At the Galleria
Cracking Easter eggs on Lexi

May:

{We took a 6 hour drive to South Padre and spent the weekend there with L's friends and his brother.}
Marah and I in South Padre

June:
{My Dad came down for Father's Day with my sister's}
(Sorry, I don't have pictures)
I made my Dad his favorite cake: German Chocolate

August:

I graduated from Texas A&M.....WHOOP!!
Sorry for the dark picture
I'm glad my Great-Grandma was able to be there with me
My Great-Grandpa was there in spirit. On the way back to Houston I saw this rainbow and it just made my day!

November:
We got to spend Thanksgiving with both our families and we also watched the  A&M play UT for the last time after 18 years. You can read about it here (Sorry, no pictures!)

I also did something that was very new to me and started blogging. I'm so glad I decided to start.

December:
       I went to my first H-town Blogger Hotties meetup. I had so much fun getting to know the girls. You can read about that here.

We spent Christmas here in Houston and can read about our Christmas here.

I know I skipped some months, but these events are the ones that stand out to me the most in my life. Even though 2011 was crazy in so many other ways, I cherish these memories I had. I'm so glad my great-grandma was able to see me walk stage and spend that special day with me.

What is one event that you will remember about 2011?

Christmas Recap

This Christmas we stayed in Houston and planned on spending it with friends this year. L had told me Thursday when he got home from work that he felt like he was getting sick. So this year, our plans went like this:

On Friday night, I decided to make L a cake since Christmas Eve was his birthday. I made him a red velvet cake, and reminded him of his age. haha

 My old roommate Megan, was in Tomball visiting her family this Christmas and she invited L and I over to her moms for a Christmas party. Megan recently got engaged to a wonderful guy, you can read about it here. We headed over to Tomball to spend Christmas Eve with Megan and her family. Megan gave me a cute little Christmas ornament with the letter "R" on it. I also made some Pecan Snowball cookies to take with us. We had a great time, but towards the end I could see L started feeling a little worse so we decided to head back home. I forgot to mention he also had to work for a couple hours on Christmas day and the weather was horrible here in Houston. (I didn't take a picture of us but Megan did, so I will post that picture when I get it)

I Love my new ornament! Thanks Megan
Our plans for Christmas day were to go with L's fraternity brother and his girlfriend. We were planning on meeting Liz and Patrick over at her moms but when we got home, L told me to tell Liz we were not going to be able to make it out because he flat out felt like crap. So on Christmas day, I was upstairs for a while watching Lifetime Christmas movies. I eventually went down and we just laid on the couch watching The Polar Express, Home Alone I and II and flipping through other movies. I wish that we were able to spend it with our families, but I am glad that we got to spend a lazy Christmas day with each other and of course the furbaby!

Even though we didn't get to see our family this year, we had a great Christmas with friends and of course with each other. I can't wait to ring in the New Year with friends this year!

Better late, then Never....

I had completely forgot to share with y'all my first blog giveaway prizes I won.  I woke up one Sunday morning to a couple of emails and noticed I had won two blog giveaways in one day. I was so ecstatic to be getting my first Scentsy Warmer and a Michael Buble Christmas CD.

Giveaway hosted by Romance In A Glance

Michael Buble was playing on my computer while I was cooking and cleaning up until yesterday afternoon.

Giveaway hosted by Krystal over at Krystal's Kitsch
I LOVE my Scentsy warmer and the bars and I will definitely be contacting Celia over at ... just trying to find my way to order some other bars and warmers.

Our Story Part 1

Happy Thursday y'all!!
I thought I would share a little something about L and I.

Did you know that L and I have actually known each other since Pre-K?! Isn't this insane!

Of course we were little and didn’t understand but when L and I first started dating his sister shared his “little love story”. L’s sister told me that when he would get home he would always talk about me and say my name, isn't this cute. We were also both part of a Pop Warner league, he played football and  I was the cheerleader. I never knew this until I mentioned it one time to L and showed him a group picture.

I vaguely remember L in Pre-K but we were in the same 1st grade class. When I was younger, I used to have long hair. It just so happened that our first grade teacher had a son the same time my mom had my little sister. My little sister was having her birthday at a pizza place and I noticed my first grade teacher was there. She mentioned that my little sister was in the same class as her son. She asked me questions about how high school was going and what my future plans were.

As we were sitting there, she asked if I was dating anyone. I told her L’s full name and she looked at me and asked me to repeat it. She then, repeated the name again and said “No way! I remember L used to chase you around the class and pull you hair”. She mentioned that I would get so frustrated with him when he would constantly do that. I thought this was the funniest thing. I don’t remember him doing this, but when I mentioned it to L he laughed and had a little smirk on his face.

Unfortunately, I moved after 1st grade and ended up coming back to the same elementary for 4th and 5th grade. We would call each other every now and then, but of course we were young and having a boyfriend/girlfriend was the last thing on our mind. After 5th grade, we both ended up going to different middle schools in the same school district. Even though we would end up at different schools, we both would pick up the phone and talk here and there.

I remember I would call L in middle school, and he would always be outside playing basketball. He would always talk to his friends but keep me on the phone. ha He was very silly, well he actually still is. We went through middle school calling each other every now and then. He likes to say that I always called him. haha  Eventually, middle school was coming to and end. We were about to be going to high school, I wasn't sure that we would ever see each other again.

To Be Continued Soon......

Oh, and can you believe Christmas Eve is this Saturday! Where did December go? L and I are still trying to figure out what to do for NYE. Last year we stayed in and L fell asleep before 12. Lame, I know! So I am trying to figure out what to do this year.

Suggestions are greatly appreciated! (:
